Science writer, editor, freelance journalist.

Welcome! Now that you’re here, let me tell you a little about me. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California before relocating to the east coast for college. I am a lover of all things nerdy, particularly science, and want to use my career to help explain to people how science works and impacts them. I like to write about everything: from how scientific policies are decided and enacted, to how water contamination works, to emerging technologies.

I studied English and science & society at Brown University before moving to Washington, D.C. and writing about telecommunications for a trade association. I then journeyed further south for my master’s in science journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I currently work for a science advocacy nonprofit in D.C. alongside my freelance work. My writing has appeared in a variety of publications over the years including the Los Angeles Zooview, Discover, Yale Medicine Magazine, UNC-TV, HuffPost, Lifehacker, Slate, and Southerly Magazine.

When I’m not working or writing about science you can usually find me traveling, playing polo, taking my dog swimming, reading, or looking for new stories to write about science.
